What World Series stubs sell for

Real offers I have made in the last year. Condition, rarity and the event itself all move the number, so treat this as a rough guide rather than a price list.

1919 World Series - Black Sox

Original ticket or stub

$2,500 - $10,000+

Babe Ruth-era World Series

Especially historically significant games

$1,000 - $5,000+

1956 World Series Game 5

Don Larsen perfect game

$1,000 - $3,000+

Historic championship clinchers

Famous teams, players and moments

$100 - $1,000+

1980s-2000s World Series games

Depending on team, game and condition

$10 - $150+

Disclaimer: These are examples, not a price list. The value of a ticket can vary dramatically based on the event, date, rarity, condition, whether it is a full ticket or stub, and other factors. Even tickets from ordinary games or concerts can sometimes be valuable because of something historic that happened that day. Send us photos of your collection and we'll research it for free.

What makes a World Series stub valuable

Four things, roughly in order of how much they matter.

The game

A clinching game, a perfect game or a walk-off home run is worth many times the other games in the series.

The year

Pre-war World Series stubs survive rarely. Anything before 1950 is worth a careful look.

Stub, ticket or rain check

Full tickets and rain checks were never torn, so they are scarcer than stubs from the same game.

The date being legible

If the game number or date has faded, the stub is harder to attribute and the value drops.

Also happy to look at

Programs, autographs, and sports cards.

"Hi, my name is Robert Araghi. If you have some old or new ticket stubs to sell, there's a website out there called Dave Buys ticket Stubs. He buys all... of them. Concerts, memorabilia, even wrestling. All you have to do is upload some pictures of the ticket stubs. Dave will check them out. They'll send you a price. If you like the price, there are multiple ways of getting paid. I just finished a deal with him and it was quick and easy. So check out his site. You won't be disappointed.[Read more]"

"My name is Gus. Just want to say how happy I am with dealing with Dave Buys Ticket Stubs. He gave me some good... prices on some items that I sold him. Sold them concert tickets, baseball, football. I also sold them black and white photographs that were used by wire service in the 70s. So you got some stuff. Give him a try. He's a fair guy. All right. Take care.[Read more]"

World Series questions I get asked

What is a phantom ticket?

A ticket printed for a World Series game at a stadium whose team did not make it, or for a game that was never needed. Few survive and collectors look for them.

My ticket is for a game that was rained out.

That makes it a rain check, and rain checks from World Series games are some of the best things I see. Send it.

Does it matter which team’s stadium it is from?

Less than you would think. The game itself and its condition matter far more than whose ballpark it was.

Ready to find out what yours are worth?

Send a few photos and I’ll come back with a number. No fees, no obligation.
