What Super Bowl stubs sell for

Real offers I have made in the last year. Condition, rarity and the event itself all move the number, so treat this as a rough guide rather than a price list.

Super Bowl I - Packers vs. Chiefs

Original ticket or stub

$1,000 - $1,500+

Super Bowl III - Jets vs. Colts

Namath's historic upset

$500 - $750+

Early Super Bowls II-X

Original tickets and stubs

$250 - $750+

Historic Super Bowl games

Major dynasties, records and iconic moments

$50 - $500+

Modern Super Bowl tickets

Depending on game and condition

$20 - $150+

Disclaimer: These are examples, not a price list. The value of a ticket can vary dramatically based on the event, date, rarity, condition, whether it is a full ticket or stub, and other factors. Even tickets from ordinary games or concerts can sometimes be valuable because of something historic that happened that day. Send us photos of your collection and we'll research it for free.

What makes a Super Bowl stub valuable

Four things, roughly in order of how much they matter.

Which Super Bowl

The early games had smaller crowds and fewer collectors keeping stubs, so they are the scarcest.

The game itself

A famous upset or a play everybody remembers lifts the value of that year’s stubs.

Full ticket or stub

A ticket never torn at the gate is scarcer than the stub half, sometimes by a wide margin.

Condition

Super Bowl collectors pay close attention to condition, more so than for ordinary games.

Also happy to look at

Press box and sideline passes, NFL and AFL Championship tickets from before the Super Bowl era, and the official game program.

If you have the ticket and the program from the same game, keep them together and send both.

"My name is Dave and I've had the pleasure of working with Dave of Dave Buys Tickets. I'm selling some of my... concert and sports related ticket stubs as well as few of the autograph footballs that I have. Dave has been very, very professional in our dealings, very courteous, very responsive, very fair in his assessments and his pricing. Communications between the two of us have been fantastic. I wholly recommend doing business with Dave in the future.[Read more]"

This is Chris. I'm a satisfied customer of Dave Buys Ticket Stubs. I've had two transactions with Dave now. I've been very impressed... by both his prompt returns and replies to my proposals and certainly the price he's given me for what I've given him. That includes a couple of batches of sports tickets, football, baseball and a few other things in there. Highly recommend him. Give him a shot at what you've got.[Read more]"

Super Bowl questions I get asked

Is a Super Bowl I ticket worth a lot?

It can be. The game did not sell out, so fewer tickets were used and kept than you might expect. Condition makes a big difference.

How do I spot a reprint?

Reprints usually have heavier paper, sharper printing and no wear on the edges. Send the front and the back and I will tell you honestly.

Should I sell the stub and program together?

Yes. A matched ticket and program from the same game is worth more together than apart.

Ready to find out what yours are worth?

Send a few photos and I’ll come back with a number. No fees, no obligation.
