What baseball stubs sell for
Real offers I have made in the last year. Condition, rarity and the event itself all move the number, so treat this as a rough guide rather than a price list.

Disclaimer: These are examples, not a price list. The value of a ticket can vary dramatically based on the event, date, rarity, condition, whether it is a full ticket or stub, and other factors. Even tickets from ordinary games or concerts can sometimes be valuable because of something historic that happened that day. Send us photos of your collection and we'll research it for free.
What makes a baseball stub valuable
Four things, roughly in order of how much they matter.
The event
A World Series game or a record-setting night is worth many times an ordinary game from the same season.
The date being legible
If the date has faded off, the stub becomes hard to attribute and the value drops sharply.
Full ticket or stub
A ticket never torn at the gate is scarcer than the stub half, sometimes by a wide margin.
Age
Pre-1960 stubs survive rarely. Even a common game from the 1940s is worth photographing.
Also happy to look at
Programs with the ticket still attached, season books, press passes, All-Star and playoff stubs, spring training tickets, and minor league games from before 1970.
If it is paper and it got somebody through a turnstile, send the photo.

Baseball questions I get asked
Are rain checks worth anything?
Yes, often as much as a used stub from the same game, because a rain check was never torn. Send it along with the rest.
My stubs have my grandfather’s handwriting on the back. Does that hurt?
Usually only slightly, and occasionally it helps, because it confirms the date and the seat. Photograph the back as well as the front.
I have hundreds of 1980s stubs. Worth sending?
Yes. Individually they are modest, but a large run in one collection is easier to place and I price it as a lot.
Ready to find out what yours are worth?
Send a few photos and I’ll come back with a number. No fees, no obligation.
